    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    Working under the direct supervision of VNSNY Registered Nurse(s) or Specialist(s), the Nurse Scholar  Intern will be responsible for participating in one or more of the following areas within a specific program: Service Delivery, Health Education, Operations and other Learning Experiences. The Student Nurse Intern may assist in: 1) the identification, assessment and delivery of patient care 2) the creation of effective teaching materials and beneficial health promotion activities for patients consistent with Agency philosophy, policy, objectives and Standards of Nursing Practice 3) the review of documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulation 4) the coordination of day-to-day activities 5) entering, collecting, researching, compiling and/or verifying data and developing, running and/or monitoring related reports 6) identifying problems and resolving/escalating issues as necess  7) participate in the transition of patient care from acute (hospital) to home (post acute) care services.
